Galvin, Vincent, H., 82, of Brook Avenue, Riverside, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday April 14, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Anne M. (O’Donnell) Galvin.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Harold W. and Mary L. (Hannigan) Galvin, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Galvin was Master Plumber for 53 years before retiring in 1997. He worked for the Bookbinder Plumbing and Heating Co.

Vincent was a former Captain of the Bay Queen, Warren. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he was an escort on the 200th anniversary of the USS Constitution Sailing into Boston Harbor. He was a volunteer for the Blackstone Valley Tourism Association.

Mr. Galvin was a teacher of navigation and boating safety at East Providence High School. He enjoyed being on Narragansett Bay and spending time with his loving family.

Vincent was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by six daughters; Maryanne Carbone of Riverside, Patricia Galvin of Warren, Karan Teeden of Warren, Barbara L. Walters of Riverside, Kathleen M. Pringle of Riverside and Anne-Marie Galvin of Riverside, three sisters; Dorothy Archibauld of Warwick, Barbara Burke of Cranston and Ellen Thompson of Hollywood, FL, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren who he completely adored and three grand dogs.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2012 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Graveside burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
