Reynolds, Viola, A., ‘Petty’, 87, a homemaker, of Knowlton Street, Riverside, died unexpectedly on March 4, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James C. Reynolds Sr.

Born in Riverside, a daughter of the late Aurele and Corinne Parant, she lived in Riverside for 83 years.

Petty was a retail assistant at Specialty Cleaners of Riverside for over 25 years before retiring in 2007. She previously worked at the former Brown & Sharpe Co.

Mrs. Reynolds was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Forever Young Club. She was a member of the East Providence Senior Center.

Petty, an avid gardener was also a caring, devoted and giving friend to all who knew her. Her kindness was boundless.

She was the devoted mother of James C. Reynolds Jr. of Providence and Gregory N. Reynolds of East Providence. She was the beloved grandmother of Patrick G. Reynolds of Warwick and Meredith E. Reynolds of Riverside. She was the sister of the late Norman and Charles Parant.

Her funeral will be held on Monday March 8, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 am. Burial will follow in Rehoboth Village Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.
