Kerrigan, Walter E., 65, of Narragansett, died Thursday February 27 at South County Hospital.

Born in Providence a son of the late Aileen (Lawless) Kerrigan, he lived in Narragansett for 40 years.

Walter was a graduate of LaSalle Academy Class of 1966. His love of surfing and the beach kept him in the Narragansett area for most of his life. Walter’s illness these past two years took strength and courage. He fought the good fight and called upon his strong will and determination to get through each day.

Walter is survived by his sister, Ann Kerrigan-Amaral and her husband Gil of Westerly, two nephews, Bryan and Gregory Amaral; his Aunt Ethel Powers and many, many cousins who were there for him along the way.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 4, 2014, in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 1 pm. Calling hours are Tuesday 12 1 pm.
