Lowry, Wendell, J., Jr., 83, of Richard Street, died peacefully at home on February 18, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Anne (Kelly) Lowry.

Born in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Wendell J. and Gertrude (Shea) Lowry, he lived in Barrington for 35 years.

Mr. Lowry was an Affirmative Action Officer for the United States Government for 25 years before retiring in 1996. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean conflict.

Wendell was a communicant of St. Luke Church. He was a C.C.D. Teacher for 50 years. He was a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Providence and enjoyed religious readings.

Mr. Lowry was a Penn State University graduate Class of 1957.

Besides his wife of 58 years, he is survived by six children, Wendell J. Lowry III and his wife Brenda of Lincoln, IL, Michael T. Lowry and his wife Terri of Pawtucket, Paul R. Lowry and his wife Laura of Riverside, Elizabeth Sherwood and her husband Mark of Bangkok, Thailand, Richard L. Lowry and his wife Rita of Sebastian, FL and Francis J. Lowry and his wife Kristen of Petersburg, IL; eleven grandchildren and one great grandson. He was the grandfather of the late Courtney Lowry and brother of the late Justine Mullen and Raymond Lowry.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
