William A. Mega, 72, of South County Trail, Exeter, died peacefully at home on June 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Ford) Mega. They were together for over 30 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Amedeo J. and Doris M. (O’Gara) Mega, he lived in Exeter for 23 years and enjoyed visiting Jupiter, FL in the winter.

Mr. Mega was the Vice President of The Mega Transportation Group for over 40 years.

William was a graduate of LaSalle Academy Class of 1969 and a graduate of Providence College Class of 1973. He enjoyed golfing and was a proud member of the former Metacomet Country Club. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, photography, horses, motorcycles, automobiles and spending time with his loving family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert J. Mega of Portland, ME, Jeffrey A. Mega and his wife Leah M. Mega of East Greenwich, Audra L. Mega of Sarasota, FL and Nicolo J. Mega of Exeter; a brother, Robert A. Mega and his wife Marie of Rehoboth, MA; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Private Funeral Service will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willet Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

  1. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Mega family. We used to live next door to Bill and Mary on Forbes St Riverside! Knew Bill at Metacomet CC. He was good friend my first 18 holes at Metacomet was with Bill,
    Rest in peace my friend!

  2. So sad to hear of Bill’s death. We go back to the 1960s when Bill and I were on the 3-time Rhode Island State Champions swimming team at LaSalle Academy. Following graduation, Bill and I spent our formative years playing golf at Metacomet Country Club. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
