DeStefano, William, G., 74, formerly of Barrington, died peacefully on April 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elodie A. (Laforge) DeStefano.

Born in Providence, a son of the late C. George and Janet L. (Harrower) DeStefano, he lived in Barrington for 60 years and Rehoboth, MA for 14 years.

Mr. DeStefano was an automobile mechanic for 40 years before retiring in 2003. He was the proprietor of DeStefano Auto Service from 1999-2003 and was a Vice President of DeStefano Ford for 36 years from 1963-1999.

William was a member of the Barrington F.O.P.A. and was past President of the Barrington Pop Warner Football League where he was involved in coaching in the community from 1980-1984. He enjoyed NASCAR Modified Auto Racing, where he repaired steering units for several racers for over 30 years.

Mr. DeStefano was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1960-1964.

Besides his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his children, Janet DeStefano Hurley of Plano, TX, William G. DeStefano Jr. of Rehoboth, MA, David M. DeStefano and his wife Nelia of Berkley, MA and Amy Almeida and her husband Scott of Warren; two brothers, Richard P. DeStefano and his wife Claudette of Scituate and George O. DeStefano and his wife Dorothy of Rehoboth, MA and ten grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Monday April 27, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jean Baptiste Church, 328 Main Street, Warren at 10 a.m.
