William H. Racca

Racca, William H. “Bill”, 87, of Primrose Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on December 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Margaret A. (Reilly) Racca.

Born in Providence, a son of the late James and Eugenia T. (Quadri) Racca, he lived in Riverside for 59 years.

Mr. Racca was senior electrical engineer at Raytheon Inc. for 35 years before retiring in 1992.

William was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and had numerous patents issued in his name.

Mr. Racca was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen M. Bonanno of Riverside and Kristine M. Murray and her husband Michael of Riverside; two sons, James K. Racca and his wife Janice of Meriden, CT and Edward F. Racca and wife Susanne of Warwick; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Melissa, Matthew, Devin, Brittany, Bradford, Stephanie and Nicole and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Rose and her husband Eric. He was the father of the late Joseph T. Racca and Michael Racca.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2017, from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Bill’s memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Springfield, 516 Carew St., Springfield MA 01104 would be deeply appreciated.

  2. Bill hired me at Raytheon in 1967. He was a great boss and a great man. I was a better person for having known Bill. My condolences to his family

  13. Mrs Racca, jimmy, eddy, Kathy, kris…I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I think back of all the memories on the porch just hanging out watching your dad coming home from “western auto”. He was one of our original neighborhood fathers. I will truly miss him.
